BEST SUMMER DESTINATIONS FOR RV CAMPING

RV

Summer is the favorite season for many people and for good reason. Longer days, lots of sunshine, and beautiful weather make it the ideal time to explore new places. Summer camping while traveling in your RV or an RV rental is a great way to create new memories while seeing more of this beautiful country. Here are some ideas for the best summer destinations for RV camping.

DEVIL’S LAKE STATE PARK

This state park, located in the Baraboo Range in eastern Sauk County, south of Baraboo, Wisconsin, is the biggest state park in the state. It is known for its 500-foot-high quartzite bluffs along Devil’s Lake. This lake was created by glacier deposits way back during the last ice age.

Devil’s Lake State Park is full of bucket-list-worthy sights to see. At the lake, there are plenty of fishing opportunities and you can even take boats and watercraft on the lake for loads of fun. There is a multitude of hiking trails to explore as well. In fact, there are 41 miles of hiking trails to be exact. Rock climbing is also extremely popular here too.

GOOSEBERRY FALLS STATE PARK

Those looking for a beautiful, scenic state park, look no further than Gooseberry Falls, located on the North Shore of Lake Superior. It’s home to an ample amount of wildlife including white-tailed deer, timber wolves, and marten. Salmon and trout migrate to the lake and provide a great source for fishermen. Check out the amazing waterfalls and cliffs as well.

This state park is also in close proximity to Grand Marais, MN, which is a very popular tourist town. Park your RV at one of their two campgrounds, and enjoy Grand Marais for all of your tourist needs.

THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST

If you’ve been aching to get to the Pacific Northwest, the destination you may want to consider is Long Beach, Washington. Named for its most famous attraction, the lengthy beach offers ample opportunity for strolling the boardwalk or sand. And spots like the World Kite Museum and Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center provide unique opportunities for learning.

To stay close to the beach while RV camping, reserve a spot at Andersen’s RV Park and Cottages. Guests enjoy amenities such as picnic tables, clean restrooms, horseshoe pits, lawn games, and even a clam and fish cleaning room. And in the evenings, unwind while watching the sunset on the Pacific Ocean.

MICHIGAN’S UPPER PENINSULA

Those addicted to summering in the Upper Peninsula in Michigan are in good company. With an abundance of lakes and forests, the area boasts beautiful geography. Cute towns complement the great outdoors to make it a great vacation destination.

The Sunset Bay RV Resort and Campground has been a favorite for generations due to its incredible location on the shores of Lake Superior. Fireplaces and modern facilities make this a comfortable place to unwind, retreat and relax.

LAKESIDE NORTH DAKOTA

When you truly want to escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, a summer campsite on an island inside a lake sounds ideal. It sounds better when it is located in majestic North Dakota, and inside the state’s largest lake to boot. Luckily, it is easy to access this gem of a spot.

Grahams Island State Park on Devils Lake offers the perfect place to park your RV for your summer camping vacation. Beautiful views abound, with many chances to explore your surroundings on foot or by boat. Some of the best fishing in the Midwest can be found here too.
